In His Presence

"You have made known to me the paths of life; you fill me with joy in your presence." Acts 2:28 I have decided to start a blog because I have been finding so many other blogs so inspiring over the last few days. Hopefully, this one will be inspiring to you!

I am CFOT Bound for September 2007!

I am super duper excited! Tonight, just shortly after supper, I found out that I am accepted to the Witnesses for Christ session for 2007-2009 at the College for Officer Training in Winnipeg. I will be heading to Winnipeg in September. So now I can start to plan for September. I am excited to start in full-time ministry. In the next little while I should be receiving more information. I am having an awesome night!

Many Blessings,
Rebecca

Yahtzee...

So here's the deal about Yahtzee. . . some things that I have learned over the past few months:

1. You need to play on a hard playing surface, it is not so fun when you are playing on a soft surface. You really need all the noise you can get.

2. Paper and other objects on the table such as crumbs... now that's interference with the dice! Shockin' hey!

3. Playing with 3 people is a lot of fun, playing with 2 people is good, playing with a crowd possibly could be too long.

4. You need to be head to head with Yahtzees in order to stay in the game.

5. Playing 6 rows at the same time is the best. One row at a time can be really hard.

6. After about the 100 games of yahtzee that I have played since Christmas, I have seen 3 Yahzees rolled with one throw.

7. Six is the funnest number to go for.

8. Yahtzee is a game that you seem to hate one minute but can't get enough of it the next.

9. It is not very nice when you can't get your bonus on top.

10. The one thing that I have discovered is that the easiest way to get a large straight is to roll it in one roll.

Ok... yeah, I know. I play a lot of Yahtzee. And believe it or not I think there is some strategy in playing the game. And... it is definitely a good way for kids to practice addition and multiplication (that's the teacher talking. . . we are in the midst of an inservice). Alright, that's all for now. Have a great day!

Here's an UPDATE!

I had my Divisional Interview on Friday. It went well! It was nice to know 4 out of the 5 who were interviewing me... that was really nice! Anyway, my papers are headed to THQ and I should know within the next little while about the possibility of college in the FALL. So that's exciting!

On Friday afternoon I headed out to Postville. We left right after school and snowmobiled to Postville. Postville is the community which is closest to us. It took us an hour and half to get there but it felt like no time because it was so pretty out and the bay ice was right nice and smooth to drive on. We went out for the weekend, which was so relaxing. I was so happy to be able to have a weekend to myself. You have to appreciate weekends like. On Saturday we had a really nice boilup. It was super nice! We went with Carla's family for the boilup. It was great. There's nothing better than tea at a fire. Then today we went to the Pentecostal church which was nice and then this afternoon, after we had a delicious ham dinner, we left to travel back. It took us almost a hour more to come back because we had had snow overnight and it made the trip a little bumpy. But all in all, it was an excellent weekend. It was very nice and relaxing.
I am so thankful!

Anyway, I think I might go and get some sleep. I am really sleepy!

Have a great day!

I hope that tomorrow I will hear from DHQ. This would make my day! I just want to have the interview and have everything move forward to THQ. This has been such a long application process. I started doing the course in March of last year so it is a year from last week. This seed for full-time ministry was planted 3 years ago in North Carolina and although at the beginning I struggled with this calling, God used certain circumstances to make the seed that He planted to come alive and now I cannot wait to enter full-time ministry for Him. God has planted a huge desire and passion on my heart for ministry and I cannot wait to do His work.

Hi everyone! I just went out of my house for the first time since I came home Monday. We have been storm bound for the past three days and finally around 2:30 this afternoon (Thursday) I was able to go out and shovel out my skidoo and shovel off my steps. It has been blowing a gail. I posted some pictures earlier but here are some pictures of the snow storm and of the final results of the snow storm. It was the most interesting blizzard that I ever experienced.

But with that being said I had a much needed break that was very enjoyable. I played piano all out for the first time since the summer, I scrapbooked a bit, I listened to a lot of Chris Tomlin music, I cleaned a bit, I had some nice devotional/prayer times, I got to complete one of the last forms before my divisional interview which should be within the next couple of days (I am so excited), I got to watch curling, I got to have a couple of naps, I was able to plan, I got to catch up with some friends and I got some good relaxing in. Overall, it was nice! I was so thankful for this time. Back to school tomorrow and it is grub day too... and I am on so I better run to the store and get something for grub day... whatever that may be!

Have a God-filled day!

Rebecca

So... here's the view from my living room window... enjoy!

Undignified by CHRIS TOMLIN

I will dance I will sing to be mad for my King
nothing Lord is hindering this passion in my soul
I will dance I will sing to be mad for my King
nothing Lord is hindering this passion in my soul

And Ill become even more undignified than this,
some may say its foolishness but,
Ill become even more undignified than this
Leave my pride by my side
I will dance I will sing to be mad for my King
nothing Lord is hindering this passion in my soul
I will dance I will sing to be mad for my King
nothing Lord is hindering this passion in my soul
(chorus)
La la la la la HEY
(repeat)
ITS ALL FOR YOU MY LORD!!!

(This is my new favourite worship song!!!! Chris Tomlin is great!)

I love how God works in mysterious ways. I absolutely love it! I was very blessed today to know that God continues to use us in ways we never quite imagined! Isn't He wonderful?

"It's some pretty out!"

The past three days it has been really pretty out! On Thursday we went snowshoeing, on Friday we went cross-country skiing, and today we went for a 5 kilometer snowshoe adventure which took about two hours. For about 4 kilometers of our journey we were out on the bay ice. We went out behind Makkovik, on Makkovik Bay and came in around Indian Head into Makkovik. It was absolutely beautiful. I just decided to show you some pictures... all of the pictures are of the bay ice except the one of the church and Carla. Oh... and just since some of you heard my slob story of last year, there is a picture of slob included. But this slob is now frozen. Alright, just wanted you all to see how pretty the last few days have been!

Another First!!!

Today was such a pretty day that we decided to do something that I had never done before. I went SNOWSHOEING! It was a lot of fun, and not as hard as I expected but I think it has the potential of being very hard when you have big, heavy snowshoes on. The snowshoes we used are meant for racing in the Winter Sports Meet that they have along the coast therefore they were not clunky or big, they were very lightweight which was nice. It was interesting trying to get them done up but I eventually got them on my feet and made my way down over the steps... maybe not the best idea. Anyway, then we went on our adventure. We went up a beautiful path and just had a great time exploring and seeing if snowshoes really work. I gave my snowshoes a true test: I went in snow that if I wasn't wearing snowshoes I would probably be up to my waist. However, with the snowshoes I probably only went down a couple of inches. That was good!
I am so thankful for being able to experience so many different things up here. I think this weekend we are going to rent some skis. Now that could be interesting! But I am sure we will have lots of fun and we will experience some more of God's beauty.
Enjoy the pictures!

Many Blessings,
Rebecca
