In His Presence

"You have made known to me the paths of life; you fill me with joy in your presence." Acts 2:28 I have decided to start a blog because I have been finding so many other blogs so inspiring over the last few days. Hopefully, this one will be inspiring to you!

SCRABBLE

Well, I hope you all love scrabble... one of the greatest games in the world. Anyway, this summer my mom and I have decided to have a scrabble competition. We have played 4 games already today and in the past two weeks we have played well over 40 games. Imagine... forty games of scrabble. Anyway, I am afraid to count who is winning because the last time I bragged I went on a really bad losing streak (I hope this is spelled right). But God taught me a lesson from that of course... He quickly reminded me of the Bible verse: He who exalts himself will be humbled... and those who are humbled will be exalted. Yeah, I definitely did learn my lesson. Anyway, I am sure there will be many more games of scrabble to come between now and the end of the summer. Let's just say... we'll probably double that number and by that time I am sure I will be seeing scrabble tiles in my head. On Sunday, during offertory, I sort of started seeing scrabble tiles in my head... the letters I E H R. Well... they kept flipping through my mind through the whole offertory. I am ashamed to say that but yes, that is what happened. Anyway, hopefully that won't happen for a while. Well... I should probably run and get another game of scrabble on the go since I am going to a friend's house in an hour.

Continue to have many blessings!

IT'S SUNDAY!

Oh, it is so nice to be home to go to church. I am really enjoying it and sensing God's presence each time I go. I know that God is moving within the Trinity Bay South Corps and it is absolutely wonderful!

Today we were blessed to see a young lady give her life to Christ. It was such a joyous occasion. Now we all need to gather around her to support her. We all need to show her our support and lift up our prayers on her behalf. When I first returned home and noticed her and her husband attending church, I was forever greatful. It was so nice seeing everyone supporting her as she went forward this morning.

WEll, we have church again tonight and I can not wait to go worship Him.
Believe me there is nothing better than being in God's Presence.

Have a great day!

Saying Farewell

Just a few, short minutes ago I said farewell to my friend, Krista. Krista and I have been friends since kindergarten and very close friends at that. Today... she is leaving to go to Alberta. How many times did I hear her say that she wanted to move away in the last four years. But with all of that being said I can't believe it. I can't believe that when I return home my close friend will not be there to go visit. I can't believe she will not be there to call to go for a drive or go to Tim Horton's.

Who knows when I will see her again? But one thing is for certain and that I do know: I will always keep in contact with her. We have spent many hours on the phone, we have gone for many drives, many walks, many bike rides, many Carbonear runs, and many shopping trips. We have both seen each other through the happy times and the bad times. We have both celebrated in each other's joyous occasions. We have shared a lot together and many secrets too. Krista is my very dear friend and I will certainly miss her not being in good old New Harbour but I know that this is for the best. AND I am so thankful that she is finally getting to go away to get work. I am so greatful!

I pray that everything will work out for her and I pray that God will surround her as she makes the transition to Alberta. I am so thankful to God for her life and the friendship we share. I know I will miss her but once again I am so happy for her to get to finally settle down with her life.

Good luck Krista! I am praying for you!
In His Presence

What is it like to be in God's presence?

Last night while I was driving home from Blaketown, I was listening to a hymn tune arrangement of "It is Well with my Soul" which appears on the newly recorded cd by the Newfoundland East Divisional Youth Band. At the moment when it came on I was reflecting on the many wonders of God as I looked out on the beautiful red sky. I could feel God's presence at that moment. As I was turning the corner by the South Dildo fishplant, the climax of the music happened and there in front of me was the most incredible sunset that I have seen in years. God's presence was forever real! It just proved to me how glorious God is.

Well, when we strive to live in God's presence everyday of our lives, life becomes amazing. I am not saying that everything is perfect because it is not but I am saying that life is peaceful when God is right at your side. Living in God's presence allows you to be you. Isn't God amazing. If we continuously focus upward to Him and fully rely on God you will see life from a totally different viewpoint. The many elements of life will seem that more amazing and beautiful. Isn't He amazing?

I just pray that Hebrews 12:2 will come alive for many people as it has for me and Kim Chan since working in North Carolina at CMA in 2004. It follows me wherever I go...

Hebrews 12:2 states: Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of God.

So today... live in God's presence as you fix your eyes upon Him.

I have had another fantastic day. I actually did practice piano this morning and I have discovered that I really love playing Spanish Classical Music. And... this afternoon I had the opportunity to go out for coffee with the Cadets, Ashley and Sheldon Bungay, who are at my corps for their summer assignment. They are doing a great job here at the corps and I am so thankful that God has placed them here for their summer assignment.

Well, I found having coffee with them this afternoon very refreshing. It was so exciting to share my calling with them and for them to be able to tell me the ends and outs of Training College. I cannot wait to enter full-time ministry for Him. God is an awesome God and everyone should know Him. I cannot wait to do what He wants me to do. I pray that God will continue to guide me along His path.

Tonight, I also had the opportunity to help with VBS again. It was a great to see all the children out. There were 60 children there tonight. Amazing hey? I am so excited to see all of this happening here. God is moving here and I am so thankful for that. Please pray for this ministry.

Well, I should run and go to bed... busy day tomorrow!

Today has been a good day. First of all I practiced classical music for the first time in about six months. I played some Rachmaninoff and some Chopin and it felt so great to be able to do that again on a REAL piano. It's just not the same when you play a digital piano although I am very thankful that I was able to buy a digital piano. It was so refreshing to play Rachmaninoff.

I also had the privilege of helping with VBS (Vacation Bible School) tonight. And boy wasn't it fun. I loved every minute of it. It was great to see the children learning about God. The little boy next to me, the most polite child that I have ever met, was singing and doing the actions... it was so adorable. I was blessed to say the least.

Anyway, it has been a good day. Tomorrow I am going to try to practice classical piano... let's see how that will go. Alright, chat with you soon!

Well, it's official, I have decided to blog.

Well, the last six months have been very interesting. God has been speaking to me in amazing ways and I have discovered many things about myself.

The first thing that I have discovered is my intense desire to do God's work. I have a desire to help people and show these people God's love. I have a desire to witness for God. Sometimes this is not been easy to do in a small school but I do try to live and work by Christ' example.
I truly believe that it is absolutely amazing when we live each moment of our life for God.

I also learned that I really love winter and it is amazing to see winter in Labrador. You really discover that you live in God's beauty each and everyday. The beautiful sunsets over the snowcapped hills and glittered across the bay ice. It is quite the spectacle sight especially when you get to travel by skidoo! My skidoo is probably my new found love... oh, don't it make going about super easy.

Well, that's it for now but I will continue posting over the next couple of summer months.

Have a great day filled with many blessings.
