In His Presence

"You have made known to me the paths of life; you fill me with joy in your presence." Acts 2:28 I have decided to start a blog because I have been finding so many other blogs so inspiring over the last few days. Hopefully, this one will be inspiring to you!

It is Well With My Soul

On Thursday morning as I was doing my devotions (morning devotions are the best!), I had a great revelation about the song "It is Well With My Soul". Yes, the song had meaning to me before but on Thursday I really realized how much it meant to me. God really used the song to speak to me on Thursday morning.

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Refrain:
It is well, with my soul,It is well, with my soul,It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own for my soul.

Refrain

My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!

Refrain

For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,No pang shall be mine,
for in as in lifeThou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.

Refrain

But, Lord, ‘tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
The sky, not the grave, is our goal;Oh trump of the angel!
Oh voice of the Lord!Blessèd hope, blessèd rest of my soul!

Refrain

And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound,
and the Lord shall descend,Even so, it is well with my soul.

Refrain

*** Isn't it so true? God gives us the strength to get through everything. Whatever is thrown our way God has taught us each to say, "It is well with my soul". We just have to put our complete trust in God. We have to truly give Him our all and let Him lead. God knows best anyway... not us! Now that's even more true.

I would encourage you to read the book "It is Well With My Soul" and also the book "Finding Anna". Sorry I do not know the authors right of hand but they are worth the read. Your faith and trust will grow I am sure.

Continue to WALK IN FAITH.

Rebecca

P.S. I did the first part of the psychological testing on Friday. The rest has been UPS"ed" to me. Not sure if I will get it like that in isolated Labrador but it is in God's hands.

Have you ever tried playing a drum kit? Well, since last year I have taught myself how to play ... well sort of? It is kinda funny actually. Well, I never ever had a desire to play the drums until in the last two weeks. See the drum kit at our school is upstairs in a big storage room... it's not in my music classroom... too loud you know. Anyway, at the end of last year I finally found a plug in up there and this year decided that the kids would burn cds with what things they wanted to learn and play with their cds. Well that is going extremely well and it has me wanting to play too. I actually just finished school for the day about 30 minutes ago and found myself going right for the drum set. Now, for those of you who know me, you are probably laughing right now because even I am. Anyway, I sat down, put on the cd, and started it playing. I think I would have stayed up there only there are too many people trying to get work done.
Anyway, that's about it from here. It's my turn to cook tonight so I better get going!

Many blessings,
Rebecca

I AM SO THANKFUL!

I am so blessed to be able to be sitting here in the school in Labrador tuned in on radio to St. John's Citadel Corps. Isn't that amazing even though I am far away I can still be connected.
I am so thankful that I am able to be here this morning tuned in.

Have a great day with many blessings!

The Certainty of God's Promise

Well I have been going through an adjustment period which has been somewhat of a struggle a bit lately and the night before school opened I was very overwhelmed and did not sleep from 3:00-7:00 (this never happens to me). Anyway, after the first school day had passed I spent much time in prayer and worship that night. After a while I decided to open my Bible and there in Hebrews 6: 13-20 I seen the words "The Certainty of God's Promise". It was at that moment that I knew God was revealing himself to me in His Word. Since Tuesday I have been relying on those verses. Isn't it marvelous how God is like our anchor and He gives us all of our hope. I am so thankful that I know Him.

For those of you reading this blog you certainly should open your Bible and read Hebrews 6:13-20. The words certainly blessed me.

Many Blessings,
Rebecca

School Starts Tomorrow

School Starts tomorrow! I now have my classroom organized! It looks way nicer than last year, in my personal opinion. I am in a new classroom with a lot more space (so it seems) and I have it organized in a way that I think will prevent instruments from getting damaged.
Tomorrow the whole school will meet in church for an assembly, then we will go back to the school and get started. I only have three classes tomorrow so I'll have lots of time to get the rest of my course outlines done.

Alright, well I should go. I have decided that Hebrew 12:2 will be my Bible verse for the year. No matter what happens that verse will keep me going. I will just keep my eyes on Jesus... that's my plan and I'm sticking with it.

Alright everybody have a great day!
